How much does a website cost in Dubai in 2026?

Real AED ranges for freelancers, boutique studios and agencies in Dubai, plus the hidden costs and quote red flags every business owner should know.

The honest answer: it depends on who builds it

Ask ten Dubai business owners what their website cost and you'll get ten different numbers, because "a website" isn't one product. A landing page for a new gym, a five-page corporate site for a consultancy, and a 200-product e-commerce store for a fashion brand are three different jobs with three different price tags. Below are the real ranges we see in the UAE market in 2026, broken down by who's doing the work.

Freelancer pricing (AED 1,500 - 8,000)

Freelancers, often working through platforms or word of mouth, are the cheapest route into having a website. For AED 1,500-3,000 you'll typically get a template-based site with basic customisation - your logo, colours and text dropped into an existing theme. For AED 4,000-8,000, a more experienced freelancer might build something closer to custom, with a bit more attention to structure and SEO basics.

The trade-off is capacity and continuity. A freelancer juggling several clients may take longer than promised, and if they move on to other work (or leave the market, which happens often in the UAE), you can be left with a site nobody can maintain. There's more on this trade-off in our comparison of agencies and freelancers.

Boutique studio pricing (AED 8,000 - 35,000)

This is where most established SMEs in Dubai land. A boutique studio - a small, focused team rather than a solo operator - typically delivers a properly structured 5-8 page site with custom design, mobile optimisation, basic SEO setup, and a CMS you can actually update yourself. Expect:

  • Landing page (single page): AED 3,500 - 7,000
  • Standard business site (5-8 pages): AED 8,000 - 18,000
  • Site with Arabic language version: add 25-40% to the base cost
  • Booking or enquiry system integration: AED 1,500 - 4,000 extra
  • Basic e-commerce (up to ~50 products): AED 15,000 - 35,000

Our own packages sit in this bracket - you can see current tiers on the pricing page.

Large agency pricing (AED 40,000 - 150,000+)

Large agencies bring account managers, strategists, in-house copywriters and bigger production teams. That overhead shows up in the invoice. For AED 40,000+ you're paying for process and polish as much as the end product - custom illustration, motion design, multi-stakeholder sign-off workflows, and often a slower timeline (2-4 months rather than 2-3 weeks). This tier makes sense for large enterprises, listed companies, or brands where the website is a flagship asset reviewed by a board. It's rarely necessary for an SME that needs a site that converts visitors into enquiries.

What actually drives the cost

Four factors move the number more than anything else:

Number of pages and content readiness

A 5-page site with content you've already written costs less than a 5-page site where the studio has to write everything, source photography, and chase you for approvals across six weeks. Have your services list, team bios and photos ready before you ask for a quote - it can shave 20-30% off the price simply by reducing back-and-forth.

Arabic language support

A genuine bilingual site - not just Google Translate bolted on - needs RTL (right-to-left) layout work, separate content, and testing on both versions. Budget 25-40% on top of the English-only price if Arabic is a real requirement rather than a nice-to-have.

Integrations

Payment gateways, CRM connections, WhatsApp Business API, booking calendars, and inventory sync with a POS system all add development time. Each integration typically adds AED 1,000-5,000 depending on complexity.

E-commerce vs brochure site

A brochure site tells people what you do. An e-commerce site has to handle cart logic, tax calculation, shipping rules, stock levels and payment reconciliation - it's a different category of build, not a bigger version of the same one.

The hidden costs nobody mentions upfront

The build price is rarely the full story. Before you sign anything, budget for:

  • Hosting: AED 300-1,500/year depending on traffic and whether you need a UAE-based server
  • Domain renewal: AED 60-150/year for a .com, more for a .ae domain
  • VAT: 5% is added to almost all local design invoices - make sure quotes state whether AED figures are inclusive or exclusive
  • Stripe or payment gateway fees: typically 2.9% + AED 1 per transaction, charged ongoing, not a one-off
  • Maintenance: security updates, backups and small content changes - either a monthly retainer (AED 300-1,500/month) or an hourly rate if something breaks
  • Stock photography or licensing: AED 0-2,000 if you don't have your own imagery

A quote that looks unusually low often just excludes several of these - ask directly what's included before comparing two numbers side by side.

How to judge a quote properly

A good quote tells you what you're getting, not just what you're paying.

When comparing proposals, check for:

  1. A page-by-page scope, not just "custom website" as a single line item
  2. Who owns the content - is copywriting included, or are you expected to supply it?
  3. Revision rounds - unlimited revisions sounds generous but often means unlimited delays; 2-3 structured rounds is healthier for both sides
  4. What happens after launch - is there a handover, training, and a maintenance option, or does the relationship end at delivery?
  5. Timeline with milestones, not just a single delivery date

Why the cheapest option often costs more

We regularly get calls from business owners who paid AED 2,000-3,000 for a site eighteen months ago and now need it rebuilt from scratch, because the original was on a platform nobody can access, had no SEO foundation, or was never mobile-optimised. Rebuilding costs more than building right the first time would have - and you lose the traffic and time in between. If your website is meant to generate leads or sales rather than just exist, the boutique-studio tier is usually the sensible floor, not the ceiling.
